How to schedule a subscription to cancel at the end of its period in CornerSpot

When a customer is leaving, you usually don't want to cut off service mid-cycle — they've already paid through the current period. Scheduling a cancellation at the end of the period lets the subscription keep running until that period closes, then cancel automatically. This guide shows you how.

How to schedule a cancellation at period end in Cornerspot

This is a lifecycle action on a subscription's detail page, available for active and trialing subscriptions.

1. Open the subscription's detail page

From the Subscriptions list under Members & Billing, open the subscription you want to wind down. The header shows its status, its SUB number, and the lifecycle action buttons.

2. Click “Cancel at period end”

In the header, click Cancel at period end. Unlike cancelling immediately, this schedules the cancellation for the end of the current billing period instead of stopping billing right away.

3. Confirm the scheduled cancellation

A dialog confirms the subscription “will remain active through the end of the current period and then cancel automatically.” Click Schedule cancellation to confirm (or Keep active to back out).

4. Cancellation is scheduled

Once scheduled, the button changes to read Cancellation scheduled, and the lifecycle steps on the detail page update to show exactly when the subscription will cancel. The subscription stays active — and keeps billing nothing further — until that date.

How this differs from cancelling immediately

  • Cancel at period end keeps the subscription active through the current period, then cancels it automatically. The customer keeps service they've paid for.
  • Cancel immediately (in the Advanced section) stops the subscription right now and moves it to the terminal Cancelled status — use this only when you need to end service at once.
  • Scheduling at period end is the recommended way to cancel when you don't want to cut a customer off mid-period.

Good to know

  • This action is available for active and trialing subscriptions.
  • The subscription's status stays the same until the period ends — only the scheduled-cancellation flag is set.
  • Existing invoices and reporting are preserved, so your history stays accurate.
