How to add products and custom line items to a subscription in CornerSpot

The Line items section of the new-subscription form is where you build out what a subscription actually charges for. Each line can be a product pulled from your catalog or a custom one-off line, with its own quantity and unit price. This guide shows you how to add both.

How to add line items to a subscription in Cornerspot

Line items are added while you're creating a subscription, in the form at Members & Billing → Subscriptions → New Subscription. (Line items, their taxes, and their discounts can only be set at creation time — to restructure later, you cancel the subscription and create a new one.)

1. Open the new-subscription form and scroll to Line items

From the Subscriptions page, click New Subscription, choose your customer and billing schedule, then scroll down to the Line items section. It starts empty, with an Add line item button.

2. Add a product line

Click Add line item, then open the product picker and search your catalog. If the product you need doesn't exist yet, choose Create new product — this opens a product panel right inside the form and wires the new product to the row, so you never have to leave the page.

3. Set the quantity and unit price

Once a product is selected, set its Quantity and Unit price. Selecting a product pre-fills the price from your catalog, and each line shows its own running Total on the right.

4. Add a custom one-off line

For a charge that isn't a catalog product, click Add line item again, switch the row to Custom Item, and type a name. Set its quantity and unit price just like a product line.

5. Watch the totals update

As you add lines, the Subtotal and Total Contract Value at the bottom of the editor update automatically. Each line can also carry its own taxes and discounts via the Taxes & discounts disclosure — covered in their own guides.

Good to know

  • Products vs. custom lines: products pull a name, price, and any defaults from your catalog; custom lines are one-off charges you name and price by hand.
  • Create products inline: the Create new product option in the picker opens a product side panel without leaving the form, and attaches the new product to the row.
  • Per-line taxes & discounts: open a line's Taxes & discounts section to add a tax rate or discount to just that line.
  • Set at creation only: line items, taxes, and discounts can't be changed after the subscription is created — to restructure, cancel and create a new one.
