How to set your agent availability (Active, Away, Offline) in CornerSpot

Your availability tells CornerSpot whether to route new live chats to you. It's always a manual choice — CornerSpot never signs you off automatically, so you keep receiving chats until you switch yourself to Away or Offline. This guide shows you how to set it from the Live Chat Inbox.

How to set your availability in CornerSpot Live Chat

Your presence lives in the presence pill at the top-right of the Live Chat Inbox at /dashboard/chat/inbox. Here's the quickest path, start to finish.

1. Open your presence controls

From the Live Chat Inbox, click your presence pill in the top-right corner. It opens a small control panel showing your current status, the team-slot capacity, and who's active right now.

2. Choose “Active” to receive new chats

Select Active to start taking new conversations — the panel notes you're now “Receiving new chats.” Active stays on until you change it yourself.

3. Switch to “Away” to pause new chats

Need a break? Pick Away. New chats pause (“Paused — slot freed”) and your concurrent-connection slot is released for a teammate, but you stay signed in.

4. Check the team-slots meter

Below your status, the Team slots meter shows how many agents can be Active at once — for example “1 of 3 in use.” The roster lists teammates who are active right now, and an Add Slots prompt appears when every slot is full.

5. Pick “Offline” when you're done

At the end of your shift, choose Offline (“Signed off”). You stop receiving chats entirely until you return and set yourself Active again. Like Away, Offline also frees your slot.

Active, Away, and Offline at a glance

  • ActiveReceiving new chats. You're in the queue and consume one concurrent-connection slot.
  • AwayPaused — slot freed. You stay signed in but new chats won't route to you, and your slot is released.
  • OfflineSigned off. You're out of the queue entirely and your slot is freed.

Availability is always your choice. CornerSpot never signs you off automatically — you keep receiving new chats until you switch to Away or Offline. Both Away and Offline free your concurrent slot so a teammate can take more chats at once.

When all slots are full

If every concurrent-connection slot is in use, you may not be able to go Active until one frees up. The presence panel shows an Add Slots prompt that opens the Live Active Agents add-on, which grants more concurrent connections. You can also free a slot by having an active teammate switch to Away or Offline.
