How to attach an e-signature contract to a deal in CornerSpot

CornerSpot lets you connect an e-signature contract directly to a CRM deal, so the paperwork lives right alongside the opportunity. You pick a template, map the deal's contacts to its recipient roles, and CornerSpot creates a draft envelope linked to the deal — ready to review, send, and (optionally) automate as the deal progresses. This guide shows you how.

The deal integration requires both the CRM and E-Signatures features on your plan, and only managers and admins can arm e-signature automation on a deal.

How to attach an e-signature contract to a deal in CornerSpot

You attach a contract from the deal form. Here's the path, start to finish.

1. Open the deal

Open the deal you want to attach a contract to and edit it. The deal form includes an e-signature section below the deal's details.

2. Turn on “Send a contract for an E-signature”

Switch on Send a contract for an E-signature. This reveals the e-signature panel, where you choose a template and configure how the contract is sent and routed.

3. Choose an e-sign template

Open the Esign template picker and select the contract you want to send. Templates are reusable blueprints — their documents, fields, and recipient roles are already laid out, so you only need to say who fills each role.

If you don't have a template yet, build an envelope once and save it as a template first; the picker shows “No active esign templates” until at least one exists.

4. Assign the deal's contacts to the template roles

Picking a template opens the Assign template recipients wizard. It walks through each template role in order. For each one, search an existing CRM contact or type a name and email, then continue. Linking a recipient to a CRM contact is what unlocks auto-filled fields on the document.

5. Click “Create”

When the final role is assigned, click Create. CornerSpot creates a draft envelope from the template and links it to the deal. The draft isn't created until you finish the last role and click Create.

6. Review the linked envelope

Back in the deal form, the template picker is replaced by an envelope summary row showing the linked contract — its subject (and, elsewhere in the panel, its ID and status). From here you can review the envelope or remove it while it's still a draft.

What you can do next

Once a contract is linked to a deal, the e-signature panel lets you automate the rest of the flow:

  • Auto-send when the deal reaches a stage — choose an Auto-send stage so the contract goes out automatically as the deal advances.
  • Move the deal by outcome — set a stage for when everyone signs, and another for if the envelope is declined, voided, or expired.
  • Review, send, or remove — open the envelope in a new tab to review it, or delete the draft to unlink it and bring back the template picker.

Tips

  • Build your common contracts as templates first — attaching one to a deal then takes just a few clicks.
  • Link recipients to CRM contacts in the wizard to unlock auto-filled fields like name, email, and company.
  • Only draft envelopes can be removed from a deal — once a contract is sent, void it rather than delete it.
