How to send images, GIFs, files, and emoji in a live chat reply in CornerSpot

A live chat reply doesn't have to be plain text. From the composer in the conversation view at /dashboard/chat/inbox/{conversationId}, you can drop in an emoji, attach a file, insert an image from your asset library, or search for a GIF — all from the icon cluster just below the message box. This guide walks through each one.

Enrich a live chat reply in CornerSpot

Open a conversation from the Live Chat Inbox, then claim it so the composer unlocks — the rich-media controls live right below the message box.

1. Claim the conversation to unlock the composer

The composer is disabled until you claim the conversation — until then it shows “Claim this conversation to reply.” Click Claim in the conversation header and the message box and its icon cluster become active.

2. Add an emoji

Click the emoji button (the smiley) below the message box to open the emoji picker, then pick one — it's inserted right where your cursor is in the reply.

3. Attach a file

Click the paperclip (“Attach file”) and choose a file from your computer. It uploads and appears as a removable item above the message box, showing its progress — and an error state if the upload fails. You can attach more than one before you send.

4. Insert an image from your asset library

Click the image button to open your asset library, then pick a picture to insert into the reply. Selected images appear as removable pills above the textarea, just like attachments, so you can review or remove them before sending.

5. Search and insert a GIF

Click the GIF button to open the GIF picker, search for one, and drop it into your reply — a fast, friendly way to add a little personality.

Sending your reply

Mix any of these with your text, then send. Selected media shows as removable pills above the box and attachments show their upload status, so you can review everything before it goes out. Click Send (or use the keyboard shortcut shown on the button) to deliver the reply — text, emoji, images, GIFs, and files — to the visitor in real time.

A note on Internal notes

The composer has two tabs: Reply (the visitor sees it) and Internal note (only your team sees it). On the Internal note tab, the image and GIF buttons are turned off — internal notes stay text-only — while emoji and file attachments remain available. Switch back to the Reply tab to send rich media to the visitor.
