How to add standard contact fields to a form in CornerSpot

Standard fields are the built-in contact attributes Cornerspot already understands — First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, Job Title, and Status. When you add one to a form, every answer flows straight onto the matched contact's record in your CRM. This guide shows how to add them from the form's Builder.

How to add standard contact fields to a form

You add fields from a form's Builder, on the form detail page at /dashboard/forms/{id}. A new form already includes First Name, Last Name, and Email from your team defaults — here's how to add more.

1. Open the Builder and click "+ Add Field"

Open the form you want to edit. In the Builder panel, click + Add Field to open the field picker.

2. Stay on the "Standard Fields" tab

The Add Field drawer opens on the Standard Fields tab. These are the built-in contact attributes — choosing one maps the answer directly to that field on the contact record. (The Custom Field tab is for your own questions.)

3. Pick the fields you need

Click a field — for example Phone — and it's added to your form immediately, no extra confirmation needed. Add as many as you like; here we also add Job Title. Two things to notice:

  • Fields already on the form are hidden from the list, so you can't add a duplicate.
  • Some fields show a Required badge — these are required by the Contact model.

4. See your fields in the Builder and Live Preview

Each field you add appears in the Builder, and the Live Preview on the right updates in real time to show the form exactly as visitors will see it.

5. Check how a field maps to the contact

Click any field to open its editor. For a standard field, the editor shows its Mapping — for example Mapping: phone_number — which is the contact attribute the answer is saved to. Fields the Contact model requires are locked as required, with the hint "Required by Contact model."

Good to know

  • Standard vs. custom. Standard fields always map to a built-in contact attribute. For your own questions, use the Custom Field tab instead.
  • All added already? Once every standard field is on the form, the drawer shows "All available contact fields are already added."
  • Required fields. First Name and Last Name are required by the Contact model and can't be made optional.
  • Changes save as you go, and the Live Preview lets you check the result before you share the form.
