Templates are the fastest way to send the same paperwork again and again. A template snapshots a contract's documents, field placements, and recipient roles — placeholders like “Client” or “Account Manager” — so each time you send, you just map those roles to real people. This guide shows you how to start a new envelope from a saved template.
How to send an envelope from a template in CornerSpot
You can launch a template from the Templates page, or from the Start from template picker when you create a new envelope. Either way, the same Assign template recipients wizard walks you through each role before the builder opens.
1. Open the Templates page
From the dashboard, select E-Sign in the left-hand menu to open your envelope list, then click Templates in the top-right. This opens your saved templates at /dashboard/esign/templates.

2. Choose a template
Click the template you want to send. Each row shows its Name, tags, and how many documents and recipients it contains, so you can pick the right one at a glance.

3. Step through the recipient wizard
The Assign template recipients wizard opens. It walks through each template role in order — its left rail tracks your progress, and the draft is only created at the very end.

4. Assign each role
For each role, either search your CRM contacts and pick a match, or simply type a name and email. Linking a contact unlocks auto-filled fields later. When a template uses sequential routing, the wizard shows an order hint so you know who signs first.

5. Click “Next” for each remaining role
Click Next to move to the following role, and assign it the same way. You can use Back at any time to revisit an earlier role.

6. Click “Create” on the final role
On the last role, the primary button becomes Create. Click it to build a fresh Draft envelope from the template, with your recipients mapped in.

7. Review and send from the builder
You land in the envelope builder with the new draft. The template's documents and fields are already in place — review everything, make any tweaks, and when it's ready, click Send for signature.

Good to know
- The draft envelope isn't created until you assign the final role and click Create — cancel before then and nothing is saved.
- Template roles are placeholders; you map them to real people every time you send, so one template serves many deals.
- You can also start from a template inside the New envelope panel using the Start from template picker — it opens the same wizard.
- Need a template first? Build an envelope, then use Template in the builder to save it as a reusable template.
