Beyond documents and fields, every envelope has a set of delivery and security settings — a message for recipients, an expiration date, automatic reminders, and an optional access code. You configure all of these from one place: the Envelope settings panel in the builder. This guide walks you through each setting.
How to configure an envelope’s settings in CornerSpot
You’ll find these options inside any Draft envelope. Open the envelope from your E-Signatures list, then follow along.
1. Open the Settings panel
From the envelope builder, click Settings in the right-rail actions area. The Envelope settings panel slides in from the right. A note at the top reminds you that changes are saved when you click Done and are included in invitation emails and signer access rules.

2. Set the message to recipients
Use Message to recipients to add a short note that’s included in the invitation emails — a quick line of context or instructions for the people you’re sending to. It’s optional, but a personal note often helps signers act faster.

3. Set an expiration date
Use Expires at to set a date and time after which the signing links stop working. This is handy when an offer or agreement is only valid for a limited window. Leave it blank if you don’t want the envelope to expire.

4. Turn on reminders
Switch on Send reminders (“Enable reminder emails”) to automatically nudge anyone who hasn’t signed yet. When it’s on, a Reminder cadence (days) field appears — set how many days CornerSpot waits between reminders (1–30, default 3).

5. Require an access code (OTP)
For sensitive agreements, turn on Access code (OTP) (“Require recipients to enter a one-time code”). Each recipient must enter a one-time code — sent to them separately by email — before they can open the document, adding an extra layer of identity verification.

6. Click “Done” to save
When everything looks right, click Done. Your settings are saved and applied to the invitation emails and the signer access rules. You can reopen Settings any time the envelope is still in Draft to adjust them.

A closer look at each setting
- Message to recipients: a personal note included in every invitation email for this envelope.
- Expires at: after this date and time, signing links no longer work and recipients can’t open the document.
- Send reminders / Reminder cadence: automatic email nudges to anyone who hasn’t signed, repeated on the cadence you choose (in days).
- Access code (OTP): a one-time code, emailed separately, that recipients must enter before they can view the document.
Tips
- Set these before you send — they shape the invitation emails and how recipients access the document.
- Use an expiration date for time-limited offers so old links don’t stay live indefinitely.
- Reserve the access code for sensitive contracts; it adds friction, so it’s best where identity verification matters.
