Your member portal gets a free address built from a subdomain — for example your-company.portal.cornerspot.net. That subdomain is the web address your members use to sign in to your portal, and you can set it to whatever you like: to match your brand, replace a placeholder you chose during setup, or simply pick something cleaner. This guide shows you how, in just a few clicks from Portal Settings.
How to set your member portal subdomain in Cornerspot
Your portal subdomain lives on the Domain tab of Portal Settings.
1. Open Members Portal and Portal Settings
From the dashboard, open Members Portal in the menu on the left, then choose Portal Settings.

2. Switch to the Domain tab
In Portal Settings, click the Domain tab. This is where your portal’s address is managed, and where you’ll find the subdomain editor.

3. Edit your subdomain
You’ll see your current portal address, with your subdomain shown in bold followed by the rest of the domain. Click the pencil (Edit) button next to it.

4. The inline editor opens
An inline editor appears, pre-filled with your current subdomain and showing the rest of your portal address (the .portal.cornerspot.net suffix) to the right.

5. Type your new subdomain
Clear the field and type the subdomain you want. Subdomains must be lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens, between 3 and 63 characters. A handful of reserved words (like www, api, or admin) aren’t allowed, and each subdomain has to be unique — if the one you pick is taken or reserved, Cornerspot will let you know so you can choose another.

6. Save your new address
Click Save. Cornerspot updates your subdomain right away, the editor closes back to the read-only display, and a confirmation message lets you know the change went through.

7. Your portal is live on the new subdomain
The Domain tab now shows your new address. Your member portal immediately starts answering on the new subdomain — the same address shown as “Live at” on your Members Portal overview — and the old one stops resolving.

What happens when you change your portal subdomain
Changing your subdomain takes effect immediately and is fully reversible — but it does have a few live effects worth knowing about:
- Your portal address changes: Members reach your portal at the new
new-subdomain.portal.cornerspot.netaddress from the moment you save. This is the address shown as “Live at” on your Members Portal overview. - The old address stops working: The previous subdomain no longer resolves, so update any links, sign-in bookmarks, or messages you’ve sent members that pointed to it.
- It’s reversible: If you change your mind, just open the editor again and save your previous subdomain to switch back.
Tips for choosing a good portal subdomain
- Keep it short and memorable — it’s the address your members will type and bookmark.
- Match your brand so members instantly recognize it as yours.
- Set it before you invite members — that way you won’t send invitations pointing to a subdomain that later stops working.
- Prefer your own domain? If you own a domain name, you can connect a custom domain from the same Domain tab instead of relying on a Cornerspot subdomain.
