Suspending a portal user is a quick way to pause someone's access without deleting their account — handy while a contract is on hold, a payment is being sorted out, or a person is between roles. When it's time to let them back in, you don't need to re-invite them or rebuild anything: a single Reactivate click restores their access exactly as it was. This guide shows you how.
How to reactivate a suspended portal user in Cornerspot
Reactivating is managed from the Portal Users page. Any user whose membership is currently suspended has a quick Reactivate action right on their row — one click, with no extra confirmation step.
1. Open Portal Users
From the dashboard, open Members Portal in the left-hand menu, then choose Portal Users. You'll see everyone connected to your portal, along with each person's membership and invitation status.

2. Find the suspended user
Locate the person you want to restore. A Suspended badge on their row means their portal access is currently paused — they're blocked from signing in on every account they're connected to. You can use the Filter by membership control to show only suspended users if your list is long.

3. Click the Reactivate (play) icon
In that user's row, click the play icon in the Actions column — hovering over it shows Reactivate. There's no confirmation dialog: reactivating restores access immediately. (Prefer the detail view? Opening the user's record gives you the same Reactivate button alongside their full activity and membership history.)

4. Confirm they've been reactivated
Cornerspot confirms with a "Portal user reactivated" message, and the row's badge flips from Suspended back to Active. The user can sign in to your portal again right away — on every account their membership covers.

What happens when you reactivate a user
- Access is restored instantly: The user can sign in again on every account their membership covers — no re-invitation needed.
- Nothing was lost: Suspending only paused access — their account, memberships, documents, and history stayed intact, so reactivating simply switches them back on.
- The status stays accurate: The membership badge returns to Active, so your Portal Users list always reflects who can actually sign in.
Suspend vs. revoke
Reactivate is the counterpart to Suspend, which temporarily pauses access. It's different from Revoke access, which is a stronger, more permanent step. If you suspended someone, reactivating them is always one click away — so suspend is the right choice whenever you expect to let the person back in later.
Tips
- Filter by membership status: Use the Filter by membership control on the Portal Users page to surface everyone who is currently suspended.
- Check their memberships first: A user can belong to more than one account; reactivating restores every suspended membership at once, so open their detail page if you want to review the accounts involved.
- Prefer suspend over delete for temporary pauses: Deleting a portal user is permanent and can't be undone — suspend (then reactivate) keeps the option open to bring someone back.
