How to edit a portal user's details in CornerSpot

People's details change — someone gets a new phone number, you spot a typo in a name, or you simply need to tidy up a record. In Cornerspot you can update a portal user's details in seconds, right from the Portal Users page. This guide shows you how.

How to edit a portal user's details in Cornerspot

Portal users are managed from the Portal Users page. Each person's row has a quick Edit action that opens a panel where you can update their details.

1. Open Portal Users

From the dashboard, open Members Portal in the left-hand menu, then choose Portal Users. You'll see everyone who can sign in to your portal, along with their membership and invitation status.

2. Click the pencil (Edit) icon on their row

Find the person you want to update and click the pencil (Edit) icon in the Actions column of their row. You can also open the user's detail page first and use the Edit button there — both open the same panel.

3. The Edit portal user panel opens

An Edit portal user panel slides in from the right, pre-filled with the user's current name, email, and phone. Change whichever fields you need.

4. Update the details

In this example we correct the user's name and update their phone number. You can also update the email address that the user signs in with, and — by expanding Change user's password — set a new password for them if they're locked out. The Account active toggle lets you keep their access enabled or turn it off.

What you can edit

  • Name: The display name shown for the user across your portal and the dashboard.
  • Email: The address the user signs in with. Changing it updates the email they use to log in to the portal.
  • Phone: The user's contact phone number.
  • Password: Expand Change user's password to set a new password (at least 10 characters) — useful if someone is locked out and can't reset it themselves.
  • Account active: Keep the user's portal access on, or turn it off to temporarily disable sign-in without removing the user.

Tips for managing portal users

  • Edit from the detail page too: Opening a portal user's detail page gives you the same Edit button alongside their full activity and membership history.
  • Use suspend instead of editing for time-outs: To pause someone's access temporarily, suspend the user rather than deleting them — their record and history stay intact.
  • Keep contact details current: Accurate names, emails, and phone numbers help everyone on your team recognize and reach the right person quickly.
