Every Cornerspot website gets a free default address built from a subdomain — for example your-site.cornerspot.net. You can change that subdomain whenever you like: to match a new brand name, replace a placeholder you set during setup, or simply pick something cleaner. This guide shows you how, in just a few clicks from the Website page.
How to change your website subdomain in Cornerspot
Your subdomain lives in the Domain Settings card on the Website page — no separate screen needed.
1. Open Website and find Domain Settings
From the dashboard, open Website in the menu on the left. In the Domain Settings card you’ll see your current address, with your subdomain shown in bold followed by the rest of the domain. Click the pencil (Edit) button next to it.

2. The inline editor opens
An inline editor appears, pre-filled with your current subdomain and showing the rest of your address (the .cornerspot.net suffix) to the right.

3. Type your new subdomain
Clear the field and type the subdomain you want. Subdomains must be lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens, between 3 and 63 characters. A handful of reserved words (like www, api, or admin) aren’t allowed, and each subdomain has to be unique — if the one you pick is taken or reserved, Cornerspot will let you know so you can choose another.

4. Save your new address
Click Save. Cornerspot updates your subdomain right away, the editor closes back to the read-only display, and a confirmation message lets you know the change went through.

5. Your site is live on the new subdomain
The Domain Settings card now shows your new address. Your website immediately starts answering on the new subdomain, and the old one stops resolving.

What happens when you change your subdomain
Changing your subdomain takes effect immediately and is fully reversible — but it does have a few live effects worth knowing about:
- Your public URL changes: Visitors reach your site at the new
new-subdomain.cornerspot.netaddress from the moment you save. - The old address stops working: The previous subdomain no longer resolves, so update any links, profiles, or marketing materials that pointed to it.
- It’s reversible: If you change your mind, just open the editor again and save your previous subdomain to switch back.
Tips for choosing a good subdomain
- Keep it short and memorable — it’s the address people will type and share.
- Match your brand so visitors instantly recognize it as yours.
- Change it before you promote your site widely — that way you won’t have links to a subdomain that later stops working.
- Prefer a custom domain? If you own your own domain name, you can connect it from the same Domain Settings card instead of relying on a Cornerspot subdomain.
