How to update a deal in CornerSpot

Deals move. An opportunity grows in value, slips to a later close date, or advances from an early conversation to a signed contract. In Cornerspot you can update a deal — including its pipeline stage — in just a few clicks from the Deals board. This guide shows you how.

How to update a deal in Cornerspot

You edit a deal straight from the pipeline board: open the deal, make your changes on the deal form, and save. Here’s the full path, start to finish.

1. Open the Deals board and find the deal

From the dashboard, open Deals and switch to the board view to see your pipeline laid out by stage (the board lives at /dashboard/deals?view=board). Locate the deal you want to update and click its card.

2. Open the deal and click Edit

Clicking the card opens the deal’s page, where you can see its current stage, amount, and full history. Click Edit in the top-right to open the deal in an editable form.

3. Update the deal’s details

Change whatever you need to. In this example we increase the deal’s Amount — you can edit the name, account, expected close date, owner, tags, and line items the same way.

4. Move the deal to a new stage

Use the Pipeline Stage menu to advance the deal — for example, from Prospecting to Qualification. The stage drives your board layout, win probability, and forecasting across the CRM.

5. Save your changes

Click Save Changes. Your edits are saved instantly and the deal returns to its page showing the new amount and stage.

Other ways to change a deal’s stage

The edit form isn’t the only way to move a deal through your pipeline:

  • Drag and drop on the board: On the pipeline board you can drag a deal card from one stage column to another to move it instantly — no form needed.
  • Won & lost stages: When you move a deal into a closed-won or closed-lost stage, Cornerspot asks you to confirm the outcome so your win/loss reporting stays accurate.

How deal updates flow through Cornerspot

Because every part of Cornerspot reads from the same deal record, an update made here is reflected everywhere instantly:

  • Pipeline board: The deal card moves to its new stage column and shows its updated amount.
  • Forecasts & reports: Stage and amount changes immediately reshape your weighted pipeline, forecasts, and saved views.
  • Account & activities: The deal’s account and any logged activities always reference its current details.

There’s no syncing or re-entering data — edit a deal once and Cornerspot keeps everything consistent.

Tips for keeping deals up to date

  • Let automations move stages for you: With Cornerspot Automations you can trigger actions when a deal reaches a certain stage — for example, sending a contract the moment a deal advances — so your pipeline stays current with less manual work.
  • Keep the amount and expected close date realistic so your forecasts stay trustworthy.
  • Advance the stage as soon as the deal really moves — your board and reports are only as accurate as the stages on it.
  • Use tags to capture context that doesn’t fit a field, then filter on them later.
